What are Hair Restoration Injections?
Thinning hair or loss of hair can sometimes feel embarrassing or make people feel older than they are. Whether your hair loss is a result of heredity, hormonal changes, or just a natural part of aging, hair restoration treatments can help.
This procedure uses your own blood to rejuvenate your scalp. When injected into the scalp, your body’s own blood-derived growth factors can reverse thinning hair and hair loss by:
- Increasing the blood circulation in your scalp
- Promoting the production of collagen and elastin which stimulates new cell growth
How Does Hair Restoration Work?
With this treatment, we use the components of your own blood to stimulate hair growth. We begin the procedure with a simple blood draw from your arm, then we separate out your blood platelets, which contain a high concentration of growth factors and protein.
When injected back into your scalp where hair has thinned or stopped growing, it causes a mild inflammatory response that triggers a healing cascade. As the platelets organize in the tissue of your scalp, they release enzymes to promote healing, restoration of tissue, and hair growth for both men and women.
Because this procedure uses your own blood, there is no chance of an allergic or immune reaction.
Am I a Candidate for Hair Restoration?
Ideal candidates for hair restoration are in overall good health, but have weak hair follicles and are experiencing small areas of hair loss on their scalp. Patients who are undergoing cortisone therapy, have low blood pressure, or are smokers may not be good candidates for hair restoration.

Hair Restoration Injections FAQs
You may experience mild discomfort with this treatment. After a quick blood draw from your arm, we will provide you wtih distraction tools and offer ProNox (nitrous oxide) to ease the discomfort. Local numbing is not provided due to the risk of shock hair loss.
It can take up to 6-12 months to visually see your results in the mirror, although most clients begin to notice results at three months. We recommend 1-2 additional treatments per year for maintenance.
We suggest using Vanicream Free & Clear Shampoo (available on Amazon and in most national retailers) to ensure your hair is clean without harsh chemicals.
After the initial set of treatments, we recommend clients get maintenance treatments every 6-12 months. Hair restoration injections are a long-term treatment and stopping does risk losing the results.
